Health Education England (HEE) is in the process of procuring funded Independent Prescribing (IP) places for Pharmacists across a range of sectors in England, including Primary Care. Please see the newly launched HEE webpage here which contains all of the relevant information:
Pharmacists in ARRS funded roles and on the Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway (PCPEP) will be eligible to access funding as part of “group 2”,
Those working in Primary Care in non ARRS roles will be able to access funded places as part of “group 1”.
HEE have just finished a procurement exercise to procure places on IP courses, and at the end of July will be publishing a list of places available for colleagues in the SE to access, and details of which universities these places will be at. The first tranche of courses will be available from September, with additional running throughout the rest of 2022 and into 2023.
Eligible pharmacists can apply directly to the university of their choice, and funding will be paid directly from HEE to the university to support that place.
Further information is due to be published on the webpage above in the next 2 weeks and will include details of the course provider list.
