Celebrating Allied Health Professionals and Allied Health Support Workers conference


The Kent and Medway AHP Faculty and Placement Expansion Programme team are hosting a Conference to celebrate Allied Health Professionals and Allied Health Support Workers on Thursday 10th November at The Detling Showground.



As part of the day we will be hosting an awards ceremony to highlight and celebrate outstanding success and innovation, attached is the nomination form, categories are below and open to your interpretation for nomination purposes:


  • AHP Clinical Educator Award

  • Creative Provision of AHP Placements Award

  • AHP Support Worker Rising Star Award

  • AHP Innovation Award

  • AHP Research Impact Award

  • AHP EDI Champion Award

  • AHP Student of the Year Award

  • AHP Sustainability Award

  • Outstanding Achievement by an AHP Support Worker Award

  • AHP Workforce Transformation Award

Please share the nomination form with your teams to allow as many colleagues as possible to submit nominations for awards. Nominees and those shortlisted will be contacted by Friday 14th October.


We are able to offer an area in the main networking area on the day to display posters demonstrating the innovation and achievements your teams have undertaken. The posters will also be made available via the website for the conference.


If you would like to submit a poster it will need to be in landscape format, A1 size and submitted both electronically in pdf format to KMICB.ahpfaculty@nhs.net and a hard copy printed for display on the day. The theme of the day is celebration and the 5 areas of focus of the day are:

  • People

  • Optimising care

  • Social Justice, Addressing health and care inequalities

  • Environmental sustainability

  • Strengthening and promoting the AHP community


The audience will be 150 strong across Kent and Medway with invited key speakers from NHS E, HEE, HCPC. NHS Forest, Kent Foodbank and TV star and former GB wheelchair rugby captain Steve Brown. We are anticipating each of the organisation to be allocated 8 tickets each, however if these are not utilised within 6 weeks of the release date we would be delighted to open up the remaining tickets across the system.


There will be space available for you to display a stand advertising your organisation for networking opportunities through the day at no cost. Please contact if you would to take advantage of this networking opportunity.


Additionally if you would like to sponsor an award category the cost is £50 towards the award and prize. Please contact on KMICB.ahpfaculty@nhs.net with which award you would like to sponsor.
