Become a Practice Supervisor


Are you a registered professional (including Nursing Associates) who are interested in supporting and developing the future nursing workforce? Become a Practice Supervisor and help students develop during their education journeys.



To be equipped with the right skills to supervise, you can:

  • Attend a half day training session / meeting provided by Canterbury Christ Church University or University of Greenwich. Just search 'Practice Supervisor' on their websites.

As a Practice Supervisor you will:

  • Serve as role models for safe and effective practice in line with their code of conduct.

  • Support learning in line with their scope of practice to enable the student to meet their proficiencies and programme outcomes.

  • Support and supervise students, providing feedback on their progress towards, and achievement of proficiencies and skills.

  • Have current knowledge and experience of the area in which they are providing support, supervision, and feedback.

  • Receive ongoing support to participate in the practice learning of students (NMC, 2018).
