Monday 6 - Sunday 12 June is Carers Week.
An annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face & recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. During the week, we should come together to make caring Visible, Valued and Supported.
GPs are in touch with carers every day, either as patients, or on behalf of those they care for. There are lots of things that GP surgeries can do to create an environment where carers are identified and supported to look after their own health.

As a Health Service we should recognise the important role that carers play, help them to be a part of decision making, connect them to advice about caring, and ensure that carers look after their own health.
