Basic Life Support, AED and Oxygen Awareness

This course is delivered in accordance with the Resuscitation Council (2015) guidelines as amended to include Coronavirus COVID19 advice issued by Resuscitation Council (UK) and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).


This is a course delivered virtually to delegates who must have access to a working email address and a desktop PC, Pad Device or Smart phone, with audio/microphone capability and ideally (but not essential) video/camera capability.


Overview – 2 hour session This training session is aimed at learners who wish for further training or to develop knowledge or skills in this subject area.


It is recommended for clinical and non-clinical staff in the workplace who have access to a defibrillator, medical or dental practices and others who work in the healthcare environment. Learners gaining this certification will know that Basic Life Support, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) form an essential part of the chain of survival.

The topics covered are regarded by Skills for Health and the Resuscitation Council (UK) as being important to maintaining good practice in the safe, prompt and effective administration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillation.

This training session will give everyone an awareness of Basic Life Support, AED & Oxygen, it will also serve as an update or refresher in respect of the changes to protocol changes due to Coronavirus Covid-19.


A “Certificate of Attendance” will be awarded. You will be offered the opportunity to upgrade this award to a “certificate of competence” by attendance at an assessment session (within 6 months) once working practices make this possible.
